Medal "30 Years of the Soviet Army and Fleet"
The medal "30 Years of the Soviet Army and Fleet" ( Russian медаль "30 лет Вооружённых Сил СССР" ) was an award of the Soviet Union , which was donated on February 23, 1948 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Soviet armed forces and its fleet in one stage. The award was made to all military ranks in the army.
The 32 mm by measuring gold medal of brass shows on their obverse the right-looking head busts of Stalin and Lenin , as well as the underlying Roman numeral XXX> (30). The reverse of the medal, however, shows within the inscription: В ОЗНАМЕНОВАНИЕ тридцатой годовщины (To commemorate the thirtieth anniversary) the three-line inscription: Советской / Армии и Флота (Soviet Army) / 1918-1948 . Finally, a Soviet star is shown below. The medal was worn on the left side of the chest of the borrower on a pentagonal red clasp, in the 4 mm of which from the hem a gray vertical central stripe is woven on both sides. The interim clasp is of the same quality. 820,080 medals were awarded.
