Medal “FDJ Order IX. Party congress "
The medal “FDJ Order IX. Party Congress ” was an award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Red October 1977. The award was given to all those young people of the FDJ who had special achievements in fulfilling the IX. Had accomplished the tasks set by the SED party congress. The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 36 mm shows the armored cruiser Potemkin in the center of its obverse . This is surrounded by the inscription: 60 YEARS OF RED OCTOBER, which can be read in a semicircle on the lower edge of the medal. Halfway through the circumference, the inscription merges into 39 vertical small bars, which are also semicircular. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows the two-line inscription in the middle on a grained ground: FDJ-AUFTRAG / IX. PARTY DAY . The medal was worn on a blue enameled clasp with the symbol of the FDJ in the middle on the upper left side of the chest.
