Medal for Science and Art (Bulgaria)

The medal for science and art was donated in gold and silver by Prince Alexander of Bulgaria on March 24, 1883 . It could be awarded to anyone who had made a special contribution to science, art, industry and agriculture.

Appearance

The sign of the order shows the portrait of the founder on the front and his name all around in Cyrillic script . On the back you can see a seated woman dressed in a Roman robe, with a shield with the Bulgarian lion in her left hand and an oak wreath in her right. In the base of the golden version in Cyrillic script there is a gold medal for science and art , and the silver medal for science and art .

Carrying method

The award was worn on a red ribbed triangular ribbon with white side stripes on the left side of the chest .
