Medal dated August 10, 1792

The medal of August 10, 1792 could be awarded to all persons of the French Swiss Guard who had participated in the defense of the Tuileries Palace in Paris during the uprising of August 10, 1792 . It was donated by the federal government on August 7, 1817.

The round medal made of iron shows on the front the federal coat of arms with the inscription   TREUE UND EHRE  , on the back surrounded by a laurel wreath the date X AUGUST MDCCXCII in three lines    .

The award was worn on a red ribbon with white stripes on the left side of the chest. A white Swiss cross can be seen on the ribbon.
