Meer Radio 88.0 is a private local radio broadcaster in Neustadt am Rübenberge .

program

According to its own information, the broadcaster attaches great importance to variety in the program. Classics from the 80s to the present day are played, including "B-sides" from well-known bands that are otherwise rarely heard on the radio. In addition to news, the editorial part of the program includes regional and national information with speed cameras and traffic jam reports. It is aimed at listeners aged 25 and over from the broadcasting area and the around two million tourists who visit the region every year. The listeners are integrated into the program via various media of the station.

founding

After a two-week music loop, the station went on the regular broadcast on November 1, 2017 with news and a moderated program. The license for this was granted three years earlier. It was the only application for the tender for the frequency on 92.8 MHz (VHF) that was changed before the broadcast began. Since no suitable transmission tower was available, a 30-meter-high transmission mast was erected on the operator's property. The program started with a team of eleven people.

reception

The program can be received via VHF from the Neustadt location on 88.0 MHz (with an output of 0.1 kW ERP). The transmission area includes Neustadt, Wunstorf and Garbsen, as well as parts of Wedemark and the Schaumburger Land. A live stream is available on the station's homepage . The RDS identification is MEERRDIO .
