The Mega Financial Holding Company (MFHC) is a Taiwanese group based in Taipei , which is mainly active in the field of financial services . It is the third largest publicly traded financial group in the Republic of China.

history

The company was established as CTB Holding Company on February 4, 2002 through an exchange of shares between Chiao Tung Bank Company (CTB) and International Securities Company (IS) and has been listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange since then. On August 22, 2002, the company acquired 100% equity interest in Chung Hsing Bills Finance Corporation (CHBF) and Barits Securities Corporation (BS) through a stock swap . On January 31, 2003, International Securities and Barits Securities were merged with a subsidiary, Chung Hsing Securities Corporation, to form the Mega Securities Company (MSC) to improve the competitiveness of CTB Financial Holding's securities business.

Through another share swap, the CTB Financial Holding Company acquired an equity stake of 100% in the International Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and Chung Kuo Insurance Company (CKI) on December 31, 2002 and changed the name of the group to Mega Financial Holding Company . Subsequently, in 2003, the Central Securities Investment Trust Corporation was upgraded to a direct subsidiary of the Mega Financial Holding Company on the grounds of wanting to achieve economies of scale and renamed Mega Investment Trust Corp. (MITC) renamed. As a result of a government initiative to promote financial specialization, Mega Asset Management Co., Ltd. was founded in December 2007 . (MAM) founded.

In September 2005, the Chung Yin Insurance Agency Company was also expanded into a direct subsidiary and transformed into Mega Life Insurance Agency Co., Ltd.
