A megaball is a large, transparent ball that one or more people can get into and use it to move over water or flat surfaces.

Simple construction

The simple construction type consists essentially of an inflatable film and can be viewed as a large special version of a beach ball . The entry into the ball is possible through a zipper in the not yet inflated plastic ball. The ball is filled with air with a blower and the zipper is closed. Then the ball can be lowered into the water. The oxygen lasts for about 45 minutes. The water strider can be tied to the bank with a line for safety.

Double ball construction

A more elaborate type of construction called the Zorb consists of two concentric, transparent spheres that are connected to one another with ribbons. The ball has two entry and exit holes that do not have to be closed because the air filling between the balls keeps the shape stable. Inside there are handles for one or two people.

Inflating (filling the double-ball space) takes about half an hour with a compressor, as does deflating.

Such a zorb was in the 194th broadcast of Wetten dass ..? seen on March 19, 2011 when cashing a bet.
