Mehmet Akif Önal (born January 1, 1990 in Tirebolu ) is a Turkish football goalkeeper.

Career

Önal began playing football in the youth of Altunsuidmanyurduspor and in 2006 moved to the youth department of Giresunspor . Although he received a professional contract here in 2009, he continued to play for the reserve team for two and a half years. In autumn 2011 he was accepted into the professional team and made his debut in a cup match. For the second half of the 2013/14 season he was loaned to the fourth division Yimpaş Yozgatspor , but returned to Giresunspor for the second half . With this club he finished the 2013/14 season as a champion of the TFF 2nd Lig and rose to the TFF 1st Lig .

In the summer of 2014 Önal moved to the fourth division club Erzincan Refahiyespor .
