Master Sibrand

Master Sibrand was the head of the hospital fraternity from 1190 to 1192 (adequate to the Grand Master of the German Order ). The order was founded in Acre in 1190 . A certificate, issued in September 1190, expressly names Master Sibrand as the founder. Previously only he was known to have traveled to the Holy Land in the wake of the Count of Holstein. When he suddenly returned, he made him head of the North German troops and crusaders.
