Master of planetary succession

As a master of the planet sequence or master of the planet series one is plaque artist indicated that around 1550 in Nuremberg worked. The artist, who is not known by name, got his emergency name from small high reliefs made of lead, which depict allegories of the planets Saturn, Mercury and Mars. These can be found in the sculpture collection of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin .

The engraver , who was called the “master of the planetary sequence”, was active in the 15th century according to the Nuremberg artist lexicon. Possibly this is the artist known as the “master of the planetary sequence of the house book”, who was one of the masters of the house book as a draftsman, etcher and engraver .

According to Ernst Friedrich Bange, the plaque artist was only active in Nuremberg in the second half of the 16th century.
