A painter who probably worked in Venice and Ferrara at the end of the 14th century is referred to as the master of the Stuttgart vision of Augustus . This emergency name refers to his image of the Augustus vision . It represents the legend , popular since the early Middle Ages , according to which the Tiburtine Sibyl interpreted his dream vision to the Emperor Augustus . The picture is in the possession of the State Gallery of Stuttgart and is considered a special example of early Italian panel painting .
