Mekiro is an island in the Gambier Islands and belongs to French Polynesia .
The island is located in the central part of the Gambier lagoon, 400 m north of Akamaru . It is 470 m long and about six hectares in size. The highest point is about 60 m above sea level. The island is uninhabited.
