(Johann) Melchior von Schwartzenberg (* 1613 in Aachen ; † January 1664 there ) was a German lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Melchior von Schwartzenberg was the son of Wilhelm Rikald von Schwartzenberg (1568-1630) and Agnes von Hartmann and cousin of the lay judge and mayor Caspar von Schwartzenberg . In 1635 he joined the star guild, the union of the Aachen lay judges, and was elected their Greven in 1652 and 1660 . In addition, he was accepted into the broadcasting court as magistrate and joined the Sacramentary Brotherhood of St. Foillan . Finally, von Schwartzenberg was elected mayor of the city of Aachen in 1655/56, 1657/58, 1659/60, 1661/62 and 1663/64, alternating annually with his cousin Caspar von Schwartzenberg for the first three terms of office. In addition to his official duties, he also took on voluntary work as a provisional assistant to the Elisabeth Hospital on Radermarkt, today's Münsterplatz, and at other social foundations.

Melchior von Schwartzenberg died in January 1664 and was buried on the 22nd of the month in the Franciscan Church in Aachen . His first marriage was to Marie von Mettichhoven / Mettekoven († May 2, 1648) and, after her death, to Maria de Groote († 1671); both marriages remained childless. Von Schwartzenberg was the tenant of the manor Gut Neuenbau near Raeren , which was owned by the St. Leonhard Monastery in Aachen . In addition, he was the owner of several properties on the Adalbertsberg and through his second wife came into possession of the Hundskirchhof in the area of ​​the Kölnsteinweg in Aachen, today's Jülicher Strasse.
