Detector picker

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The detector picker is a device for maintaining fire alarms and consists of several extendable poles made of lightweight material to reach smoke detectors at heights of approx. 5 - 10 meters.

An essential component is a precisely fitting adapter that grips, unscrews and detaches the smoke detector, for example to clean or replace it. By using a different adapter at the tip of the rods, so-called test gas can also be used for functional testing.

The maintenance (3 × inspection and 1 × maintenance per year) of the fire detectors of a fire alarm system is carried out according to the guidelines of DIN 14675 . In the technical connection conditions for fire alarm systems, maintenance is mandatory.
