Milking pit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Milking pit

The milking pit is the center aisle in the milking parlor where the milker stands. The milking pit is about one meter deeper than the standing surface of the animals so that the milking person can more easily reach the animals' udders .

Milking pits can have a height-adjustable floor in order to adapt to the height of the milking person.
