history

Since 1972 there has been a cable car near today's cable car, which was substantially rebuilt in 1982 by Doppelmayr and also had a very special meaning for Doppelmayr, as it was the first detachable cable car manufactured by this company. In the summer and autumn of 2015, the Mellaubahn was rebuilt to replace the old cable car in the form of a monocable gondola on the same route. After investing around 20 million euros, the new 10-person gondola went into operation on December 4, 2015.

Technical specifications

In 2015, the Mellaubahn was comprehensively renewed in the shortest possible time after many years of discussion and preparation. For years, the transport capacity has been considered insufficient to meet the number of passengers. As a result of the conversion of the system, the total capacity of the system's conveying capacity has been increased by around three times compared to the previous one.

Technical data of the new system
