The JK Memorial is a national memorial on the Eixo Monumental in Brasília , intended to commemorate the President and founder of the capital of Brasilia, Juscelino Kubitschek . It was inaugurated in 1981 and designed by Oscar Niemeyer in a modernist style.

On the roof of the elongated, monolithic building without windows is an oversized statue of the president (4.5 meters tall) in a stylized sickle by the artist Honório Peçanha , as well as an abstract artistic form made from a concrete shell.

You enter the building via an underground ramp. The only natural light source is a red-colored window mosaic above the central sarcophagus with the remains of the president. In addition to a collection of medals and awards that Juscelino Kubitschek received throughout his life, there are some leather seating groups , also designed by Oscar Niemeyer .
