A volume corrector ( English volume conversion device ) is a device for calculating the gas flow rate in the standard state basis of the measurement result in the operating state.

The volume corrector determines the volume flow under standard conditions of the medium to be measured based on the volume measurement in the operating state and its temperature and pressure . The amount now determined is given in standard cubic meters . By multiplying by the specific calorific value , the energy can now also be determined.

application

In gas networks , the volume in the customer's lines is determined by a gas meter that records the volume. If the pressure deviates significantly from the usual network pressure, a volume corrector is installed that corrects to the standard conditions.
