The menhir of Barnmeen ( English Standing Stone ) stands west of Rathfriland near Newry , north of the A25 behind a hedge south of a side road in County Down in Northern Ireland .

The very massive granite stone is about 3.6 meters high and 1.5 m wide at the bottom. It has a distinctive, presumably artificial, indentation on the north side. Known as the shoulder, this feature is found on some megaliths in this part of County Down, including the Menhir of Tamnaharry and the Portal Tomb of Wateresk .

The base measures about 1.2 × 1.4 m and the stone is about 3.5 m high. The stones at its base are worn away, but have not affected its stability. It is a rounded granite stone on the highest point of low Longstone Hill.

About 5.2 km southwest, in Saval More, on a side road of the A25 in an abandoned private cemetery there is a pair of granite stones at a distance of about 2.0 meters. The eastern pointed stone is about 2.2 meters high and almost one meter wide. The smaller rectangular stone is 1.6 meters high and just over half a meter wide. The larger one is pointed while the smaller one is flat: male and female?

A further 200 meters southwest on the other side of the street is a 1.8 meter high granite menhir in a field.
