The menhir of Bensheim (also called Hinkelstein ) is a prehistoric menhir in Bensheim in the Bergstrasse district in Hesse .
location
The stone is located in the middle of the village in the northwestern gusset of the intersection of Auf der Schwell / Am Hinkelstein and Röderweg.
description
The menhir is made of granulite . It ends in a rounded tip and shows artificial processing marks on its southern and eastern side. The stone has a height of 140 cm, a width of 90 cm and a thickness of 60 cm.
