Menhir of Vaujours

The menhir of Vaujours (also called menhir of Château-la-Vallière) is 1.7 km southeast of Château-la-Vallière in the Vallon des Dames ( German  "Valley of the Ladies" ) in the Touraine in the Indre-et-Loire department in France .

The slightly inclined menhir made of pudding stone is the second largest in the department . It is 3.6 meters high and 1.5 meters wide. An excavation shows that the roughly prismatic block is about 3.0 meters deep in the ground.

The local tradition “La Dame Blanche” is associated with the menhir and the valley.
