Kateryna Timokhina

Kateryna Timokhina-Haupt (born July 20, 1989 ) is a Swiss violinist and teacher.

Life

At the age of 12 she made her debut as a soloist with the State Orchestra Kiew-Camerata with the Violin Concerto in E major by JS Bach. Since then she has made further appearances as a soloist, among others with the Philharmonie Kiev, the Plovdiv Symphony Orchestra (BU), the ZHdK-Strings, the baroque orchestra "i baroccoli", the Harmonie Zürich Wollishofen and the Orchestergesellschaft Zürich.

In 2002 she won the KDAM Academic Prize for the contemporary piece in Kiev, in 2007 prizes at the “New Names of Ukraine” and “Ukrainian Youth in Europe” competitions and in 2011 at the youth music competition in Bischofszell . In addition, she received scholarship prizes at the “Nicati de Luze” competition in Lausanne in 2010 and the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation . In 2011 she was accepted as a scholarship holder of the “ Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now ” organization, which made concerts in Switzerland possible. She studied in Switzerland (MA concert and soloist diploma) with Rudolf Koelman and in Austria (Graz) with Yair Kless. She attended master classes with Igor Ozim, Eduard Grach, Shmuel Ashkenazy, Mauricio Fuks, Giuliano Carmignola and Ida Haendel .
