The more than ten menhirs of the Quiberon peninsula are mostly in the south of the peninsula, in and around the town of Quiberon or near Saint-Pierre-Quiberon .

The great menhirs

  • The massive Quiberon Menhir (also called Monument aux Morts) stands on a square on Rue Pouligner in Quiberon and is about 5.0 m high.

The four lichen-covered menhirs of Manémeur (also Mané-Meur) are west of Quiberon.

  • The menhir Manémeur 1 stands in the hamlet of Manémeur, is around 3.0 m high, 2.0 m wide, 0.5 m thick. It is a bowl stone ( French pierre à cupules ) and has several bowls on its south side.
  • The menhirs Manémeur 2 + 3 are about 20 m apart. The larger one is about 5.0 m high, 3.0 m wide and tapers towards the top. The smaller one is about 3.0 m high.
  • The menhir Manémeur 4 is close to the sea at Port Kehau and is almost 3.0 m high. In a storm it is sprayed with sea water through a blowhole .
  • The menhir of Goulvars (also called Goulvarch Menhir or Menhir de Goulvarc'h) stands at the airfield, southeast of Quiberon. It is made of granite and about 5.0 m high. The lower meter is covered by quicksand.
  • The menhir of Conguel (also called menhir de Port Jean) is about 3.5 meters high and 1.0 meters wide and stands next to the road. About 75 m away is the collapsed dolmen of Conguel at the roadside.
  • The two menhirs of Beg-er-Goalennec stand on both sides of the coastal road, west of Quiberon, between menhirs 3 and 4 of Manémeur. Menhir A is a broken menhir next to a restaurant on the Cote Sauvage. It is about 4.0 meters high, another 2.0 meters have broken off at the top. It is over 2.0 meters wide and 30 cm thick. Menhir B is an approximately 3.0 m high, heart-shaped broken menhir.
  • The Menhir de Beg er Vil (also called Menhir de Berer Vil or Menhir couché - the sleeper) is about 6.0 m long and is located on Rue du Menhir Couché, in the southern urban development of Quiberon. He is wearing bowls and pictures show that he was still standing in 1882.

The small menhirs

  • The menhirs de Keridenvel 1 and 2 are on both sides of the railway line, at Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. Menhir 1 is roughly triangular, with a large piece split off. Menhir 2 is closer to the built-up area
  • The menhir at the Pointe de la Guérite, west of Quiberon is a relatively small menhir on the cliffs of the Cote Sauvage between the cliff path and the coastal road. It probably belongs, as "Menhir indicatuer", to the nearby Allée couverte of Pointe de la Guérite. It was cut by the road at the east end, so it may have been longer than the current approximately 6.0 meters.
  • The Menhir d'Er Men Guen is in a parking lot in the north of Quiberon.
