The menhirs of Arthog ( English Arthog Standing stones ), southeast of Arthog near Barmouth in Gwynedd in Wales , were described as a stone circle on early OS maps , but CA Gresham believes the spreading pattern of the stones is the remains of a ring cairn .

Six stones and a hole for the seventh have been preserved, along with four stones about two meters to the east. Some were used as goal posts and one is a few yards away on the field. The ten remaining stones are 0.4 to 1.0 meters high.
