history
The Waale are artificially created canals that used to be used to irrigate the orchards, and some of them are still used today. Narrow paths were laid next to it for the maintenance and care of the Waale.
course
The Waalrunde connects eleven Waalwege with each other, which extend over almost 84 km. The circuit is signposted with the name “Meraner Waalrunde” and is divided into eight sections that can be hiked in about eight days. The starting point of the Waalrunde is the Töll , a fraction of the Partschins . From there it goes over the Algunder and Kuenser Waalweg to Saltaus in the Passeiertal. Following the Maiser- and Schennerwaalweg you reach the Naif. From the Naif it goes down to Burgstall and then to Lana . Via the Brandis, Tschermser and Marlinger Waalweg you return to Töll and from the Töll on the Patschinser and Rablander Waalweg to Naturns .
