The Mercado San Juan de Dios , less known as Mercado Libertad , is the largest covered market in Latin America with around 40,000 m² of retail space. It is located in the capital Guadalajara , in the Mexican state of Jalisco .

The market was designed by the Mexican architect Alejandro Zohn and finally inaugurated in December 1958. The market consists of around 2900 stalls spread over three levels. The lower level sells commercial groceries and sweets. On the middle level you will find restaurants with typical regional and Mexican dishes and on the top level, the most recent expansion of the market, there are stalls with imported goods from all over the world, such as electronics and clothing. You can reach the market by car; the market offers two parking options.

The market is open every day of the year.
