Alejandro Zohn
Alejandro Zohn (born Alexander Zohn Rosenthal on August 8, 1930 in Vienna ; died in Guadalajara in 2000 ) was a Mexican architect.
Life
After the annexation of Austria, Alexander Zohn Rosenthal's family fled to Paris and came to Mexico in 1939.
Alejandro Zohn studied at the Universidad de Guadalajara and graduated as a civil engineer in 1955. He then worked at the architecture faculty and took the architecture exam in 1963. He was trained by Mathias Goeritz , Ignacio Díaz Morales , Bruno Cadore Marcolongo and Horst Hartung Franz.
During his more than forty years of activity, he built exclusively in Guadalajara and the state of Jalisco . He began with the earpiece in Agua Azul Park (1958), the Mercado San Juan de Dios (Mercado Libertad) (1958) and the Unidad Deportiva sports center named after López Mateos (1962). Other buildings are the Internado Cervantes, the Hotel de los Reyes, the Iglesia del Nazareno (1967); furthermore the Banco Refaccionario de Jalisco (1973), the Centro urbano en Miravalle (1975), the Shopping Mall Plaza del Sol, the Mulbar shopping center and the Archivo del Estado de Jalisco (1989).
He was also involved in residential construction and planned the CTM-Atemajac house complex (1979).
