Ignacio Díaz Morales
Ignacio Díaz Morales (born November 16, 1905 in Guadalajara , † September 3, 1992 ibid) was a Mexican architect and civil engineer.
biography
Díaz studied from 1921 at the Escuela Libre de Ingenieros ( Spanish for Free Engineering School ) and graduated there in October 1928 as an architect and civil engineer. During his studies, he was also a guest student at the Escuela de Arquitectura in Mexico City from 1922 to 1924 . From 1930 to 1938 he designed several railway stations for the Ferrocarril del Sudpacífico railway company. From 1941 to 1943 he was President of the Urban Planning Authority of Guadalajara and founded the Faculty of Architecture at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) of the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) at the end of the 1940s , where he taught until 1963 and until 1958 was also director. In 1949 he founded the architecture and civil engineering company Arquitac y Arquitectura Sacra . From 1973 he taught again at ITESO until his death. Díaz was an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects . His body was buried in the Templo Expiatorio in Guadalajara.
