Mercato is the 10th of the 30 districts ( Quartieri ) of the southern Italian port city of Naples . It is located directly east of the historic center ( Centro Storico ) and, from a socio-economic perspective, is one of the poorer districts of the center of Naples .
Geography and demography
Mercato borders it on the neighboring districts Zona Industriale and Pendino .
Mercato is 0.39 square kilometers and had 10,845 inhabitants in 2009.
