from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mercedes-Benz O 305 GTD is a duo bus type from Daimler-Benz ; it is based on the conventional articulated bus series O 305 G or the conventional trolleybus series O 305 GT . The electrical equipment was supplied by AEG . The type designation GTD stands for G elenk- T rolleybus with D ieselantrieb. Two of the four cars were also track buses . Following the prototype built in 1979 with the designation O 305 GD / E , a total of four examples of the type discussed here were produced in 1983. These were distributed as follows:

piece business Numbers Lane guidance
2 Trolleybus Esslingen am Neckar 306 and 307 No
1 Test vehicle for the Rastatt O-Bahn test facility no Yes
1 Essener Verkehrs-AG (EVAG) 3701 Yes

The Rastatt test vehicle was also handed over to Esslingen in 1986 and entered the regular inventory there in December of the same year under the number 308 (the lane guidance was removed beforehand). The Essen car 3701 was later rebuilt and was used as a pure diesel bus for several years (also without lane guidance). The successor to the O 305 GTD small series is the O 405 GTD , which was built in 47 units .
