The Mercedes-Benz O 305 GT is a type of trolleybus from Daimler-Benz . The articulated trolley is based on the standard O 305 G series bus and is closely related to the Mercedes-Benz O 305 GTD duo bus variant produced in parallel . The electrical equipment was supplied by BBC-Sécheron . The type designation GT stands for G elenk- T rolleybus. A total of five copies of the type discussed here were produced in 1982 and 1983, these were distributed as follows:

Construction year piece business front Numbers
1982 3 Bergen trolleybus VÖV front 328-330
1982 1 Test car at the Solingen trolleybus VÖV front 82
1983 1 Kaiserslautern trolleybus StÜLB front 137

The three Bergen wagons had bodies made by the Swiss company FBW . The Solingen test car 82 was also handed over to Kaiserslautern in 1982. There it was initially also intended as a test car, but was later added to the regular inventory under number 136. In 1985, wagons 136 and 137 were initially taken to the Basel trolleybus operated by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB), where they were in regular service between autumn 1986 and February 2000. Then they came to Brașov in Romania , but have now both been taken out of service.

From 1986 the successor series O 405 GTZ was manufactured by Daimler-Benz , whereby from the mid-1980s the focus was increasingly on the production and further development of duo buses.
