Mercedes Pardo
Mercedes Pardo (born July 20, 1921 in Caracas , † March 24, 2005 in San Antonio de Los Altos ) was a Venezuelan painter.
Pardo studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes and the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Artes Aplicadas and completed her training at the art school of the Louvre and in the workshop of André Lhote in Paris . She also lived in Santiago de Chile for several years . Her works have been exhibited in the major museums of her country as well as the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico and she took part in the V Bienal de Sao Paulo , the 31 Biennale di Venezia and the I Bienal de Grabado in Puerto Rico . Her paintings can be found in the collections of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo , the Museo de Bellas Artes and the Galería de Arte Nacional in Caracas as well as in domestic and foreign private collections. In 1978 she was awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas .
