Mercury Asset Management
Mercury Asset Management was a British investment company that existed between 1967 and 2006 . At times the company was listed in the FTSE 100 index .
history
The company was founded in 1967 under the name Warburg Investment Management from SG Warburg & Co. as a securities company. In 1987 the bank floated a 25% stake in the company, which from then on was listed on the London Stock Exchange under the name Mercury Asset Management . When the Swiss Bank Corporation took over the investment banking business of SG Warburg & Co. in 1995 , the group was restructured and the remaining part of the bank was run as a subsidiary of Mercury Asset Management. In 1997 Merrill Lynch bought the securities company, which was then taken off the stock exchange and integrated into the banking group under the name Merrill Lynch Investment Managers . In 2006 she merged with the investment company BlackRock to become one of the largest asset managers in the world.
Associated names
Various personalities from politics and business have worked for Mercury Asset Management in the course of their careers. These include the British MEP Godfrey Bloom , Munich Re Board Member Nicholas Gartside , Paul Marshall , the founder of the influential hedge fund Marshall Wace and Carol Galley , who was considered one of the most influential women in the international capital market business in the 1990s.
