Feature sum

The feature sum or total feature amount is the sum of the values ​​of a metric feature for the elements of an entity. It is used in descriptive statistics in connection with the Lorenz curve . B. the cumulative relative feature sum is compared to the cumulative share of feature carriers.

Depending on the form in which the data is available, the sum of features is calculated differently. Can be:

• classified frequency distribution
  • with known sum of features
  • with unknown sum of attributes (approach using class centers)

It is also necessary to distinguish whether one is looking at the relative or the absolute concentration.
