Meryem Beklioğlu

Meryem Beklioğlu (born before 1984) is a Turkish biologist . She is Professor of Hydrobiology at the Technical University of the Middle East (METU), Ankara .

Life

Meryem Beklioğlu studied biology (B.Sc.) from 1984 to 1988 and then did her master's degree in population genetics at the METU in Ankara. She wrote her master's thesis on variations in the morphology of six species of tsetse flies ( Glossina ) using multivariate statistical analyzes . From 1991 to 1995 she did her PhD at the University of Liverpool in the Limnology group (Freshwater Ecology). Since 2007 she has been Professor of Hydrobiology at METU.

Her working group investigates the effects of climate change and land use on the dynamics of shallow lakes.
