The Mass brève no. 6 aux cathédrales in G major is a mass by the French composer Charles Gounod . The performance lasts approx. 15 minutes.

Emergence

The work was composed by Gounod in 1890 and arose from a revision of the Mass No. 3 aux communautés religieuses for three equal voices from 1889. It was first published in 1893 by the publishing house “Le Beau” in Paris.

Gounod wrote the mass for four-part mixed choir ( SATB ) and organ . The vocal parts can also be cast ad libitum as solo parts.
