from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Messepark Landshut is an outdoor area for trade shows and events in Landshut with an area of over 70,000 square meters. It is located in the so-called service area Schönbrunn on the former barracks area of Landshut.

It was opened in 2003 as a new exhibition center in the east of Landshut. 1000 free parking spaces are connected to the exhibition park. The exhibition park is divided into 70,000 square meters of open space, which consists of six different and combinable, individually accessible fields, the Sparkassen-Arena (exhibition hall), which can accommodate up to 5000 people, and the exhibition tower. The exhibition tower is 70 meters high. It is rocket-shaped and forms the logo of Messe Landshut. The rocket stands for new ideas that are presented at the fair. In addition, the exhibition tower offers a viewing platform with a café and cell phone masts from all four providers. The exhibition park is located east of Niedermayerstrasse. The supplier and exhibitor approach is via a bus lane at its south portal. The west entrance and a taxi stand are located at the west portal. The parking spaces, the Sparkassen-Arena and the exhibition tower are located at the east portal. There is a second visitor entrance here. The Landshut-Messe office park joins the trade fair park at the north portal. Here is another delivery route. The exhibition park can be equipped with lightweight halls or roofed over at any time. This makes it one of the most modern exhibition centers in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Landshut as a trade fair city

The city of Landshut has a long tradition as a trade fair location. So far, however, the masses have been held on the Grieserwiese fairground, in the city halls or at other locations.

With the new exhibition park, the trade fairs and exhibitions will in future be united in one place. In addition, the Grieserwiese fairground, which also serves as a large car park for the center, will be relieved.

In addition, new trade fairs can be offered in the future and a larger area is available (the Grieserwiese only has 40,000 square meters). After the exhibition park was opened in 2003, planning began for an exhibition and event hall on this site. This was opened in 2005 as the Sparkassen-Arena Landshut. In addition, the exhibition tower was built on the eastern entrance portal.

In March 2010, a small foyer extension was completed, which above all increases the sanitary and catering capacity but can also be used for smaller events and conferences. A year later, a new exhibition hall was completed, the foyer now also serves as a connection building with the Sparkassen-Arena.
