Mete Ekşi (* 1972 in Berlin ; † November 13, 1991 ibid.) Was a German youth of Turkish descent who died in a violent confrontation at the age of 19.

He was born in Berlin, lived in Kreuzberg as a child of Turkish parents and attended the Sophie-Charlotte-Gymnasium in Charlottenburg .

Brawl and death

On October 27, 1991, Ekşi was involved in a violent confrontation on Berlin's Adenauerplatz . Three brothers from Marzahn , Martin (18), Markus (24), Michael Sch, were involved. (25 years old), as well as a group of Turkish-born Kreuzbergers. Mete Ekşi collapsed bleeding after being hit with a baseball bat. He was then in a coma for 17 days and died on November 13, 1991. The 25-year-old Michael Sch. was sentenced on January 21, 1994 to three years and nine months in prison.
