Meter stick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A meter stick is a simple length measuring device that is mainly used in forestry and that is usually one meter in length .

meaning

It is a very simple straight piece of wood - mostly in the form of a stick, from which the bark is often removed to make it easier to find in the forest or which is made recognizable by color. This meter stick is usually cut to this length by the user himself. The length is taken from a folding rule . A particularly exact length measurement is not possible with it, as it can only be used to measure the full length of the stick; a further subdivision is rarely made. For forestry purposes (for example for measuring trunks and branches to the nearest one meter or a multiple thereof) but very practical because it is handy, fast and sufficient.

A forest tape measure is usually used for more precise measurements or higher quality or longer wood .
