Methods in Enzymology (abbreviated Methods Enzymol. ) Is a series of books by Elsevier Verlag that has been published since 1955 and deals with biochemical laboratory methods. It is considered to be one of the most important publications in the field of biochemistry. The first volume in the series appeared in 1955 and described the extraction and biochemical analysis of enzymes . Later volumes dealt with methods for working with numerous different biochemical systems such as specific enzyme and substance classes, metabolic pathways , but also with cell biological and molecular biological methods. A total of 597 volumes had been published by the end of 2017.

The impact factor in 2014 was 2.088.
