METKA is a mechanical engineering company that is a leader in Greece and is now majority owned by Mytilineos Holdings . METKA traditionally manufactures production and conveyor systems , meanwhile the construction of power plants has become important. Important markets for the company are the Netherlands, Southeastern Europe, Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.
history
The company was founded in 1962 in Nea Ionia near Volos . The company was listed between 1964 and 1973, the competitor TECHNOM SA was taken over in 1980, SERVISTEEL SA in 1989. In July 1998, Mytilineos Holdings took over the majority of the company and currently holds 65.5% of the shares.
