Metopion fluens is a type of heterotrophic protozoa that is systematically relatively isolated and, as a separate order Metopiida, is placed in an unsafe position to the Cercozoa .
features
Metopion fluens is a unicellular, two- flagellated zooflagellate that does not form pseudopodia . They slide along the substrate with the help of the posterior flagella. The two flagella arise in a pit.
Systematics
Metopion stands within the filosa in a relatively basal place, together with Metromonas and the Chlorarachniophyta . Within the Filosa, the species is listed in its own order as incertae sedis :
- Order Metopiida
- Metopiidae family
- Genus Metopion
- Species Metopion fluens
- Genus Metopion
- Metopiidae family
