Meters

Metretes was a Greek measure of volume for liquids. The measure was slightly larger than the Roman amphora. The measure is mentioned in the Bible (Jn 2,6).

  • 1 meter = 72 sextaries = 1 bath (Hebrew) = about 2 buckets or 24 to 28 measure = about 39 liters
