The Metropolitan National Bank Tower , formerly the Capitol Tower , is a skyscraper in Little Rock in the US state of Arkansas . It was completed in 1986 and opened that same year. Its total height is 166 meters (547 feet ), making it the tallest building in Arkansas.
Construction and naming
Construction was decided in 1984 after differences between two main interested parties were settled. It was completed in 1986 under the name "The Capitol Building". After the frozen yogurt chain TCBY, which was founded in Little Rock, moved into the building as the new main tenant in 1991, it also became the name giver. They later left the building following the sale of the company, and in August 2004 the regional company Metropolitan National Bank moved its headquarters to the building. This is where today's name Metropolitan National Bank Tower, or Metropolitan Tower for short, emerged. The Metropolitan Bank installed outdoor lights on the building that are switched on for special events such as the start of holidays.
