Meyersgrund

Meyersgrund is a settlement belonging to the Manebach district of the city of Ilmenau in the Ilm district in Thuringia .

Meyersgrund is located south of Manebach and north of Stützerbach on federal highway 4 . The Meyersgrund is a side valley of the Ilm , embedded in the forest on the north side of the Thuringian Forest . The Ilm flows coming from Stuetzerbach by the Meyersgrund north to Manebach where it flows through the Manebacher reason to Ilmenau and on. The Plaue – Themar railway follows the Ilm valley through the Meyersgrund, which was a stopping point until 1920.

history

The property in Meyersgrund was a former cutting mill that still operated a trout farm and tourist office. Today the Meyersgrund is accessible all year round as a forest campsite.
