Mezadzor ( Armenian Մեծաձոր , received its current name in 2006, formerly Avtona Armenian Ավթոնա and also Shanlu ) is a rural municipality in the Aragazotn province in Armenia. In 2009 Mezadzor had 105 inhabitants. Most residents are Kurdish Yezidi and the former name Avtona means "waterless" in Northern Kurdish .

Mezadzor is located on the southwestern edge of a high plateau. The next villages (from west to east: Verin Bazmaberd , Kakavadzor and Otevan ) are all in the south of Mezadzor.

The population is almost exclusively employed in agriculture and livestock.
