Mhlume [ m̩ˈɬumɛ ] is a city in Eswatini (until 2018 Swaziland) in the Lubombo region . In 1997 it had 7661 inhabitants. Mhlume lies 278 meters above sea level in the Lowveld west of the Lebombo Mountains . Sugar cane is grown in the area and is processed into sugar in a sugar refinery owned by the Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC) in Mhlume. 52% of the sugar cane delivered there comes from smallholders .

Mhlume is on the MR24 road . The airfield Mhlume Airport is located northwest of the town.

Mhlume Peacemakers FC and Mhlume United FC were at times nationally successful football clubs that were based in Mhlume. Mhlume United FC merged with Simunye FC from the southeast, Simunye for RSSC United FC , which plays its games in Mhlume.
