Simunye is a city in Swaziland in the Lubombo region . In 1997 it had 5633 inhabitants. Simunye is 260 meters above sea level in the Lowveld west of the Lebombo Mountains . Sugar cane is grown in the area, which is processed into sugar in Simunye in a sugar refinery built by the Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC) in 1980 and expanded in 2000 . Ethanol is extracted from the molasses in a neighboring plant .

Simunye is on the MR3 highway , which also reaches the two largest cities in the country, Manzini and Mbabane . The airfield Simunye Airport is located north of the village.

The football club Royal Leopards FC , a police sports club , is based in Simunye, as is Green Mamba FC . The stadium is called Simunye Park. The merger of Simunye FC and Mhlume United FC created the RSSC United FC club , which has its headquarters in Mhlume to the north-west , in which the RSSC is also active.
