MiTAC is a Taiwanese computer company. The MiTAC International Corp. was founded on December 8, 1982 and manufactures high-end workstations, servers, and mobile and navigation devices. The company employs 28,000 people in Taiwan, the PR China, the USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany and Japan.

In 1999, MiTAC acquired a stake in the motherboard manufacturer Tyan , which was taken over in 2007. In the same year the navigation device manufacturer Navman was taken over and incorporated into the MiTAC subsidiary Mio Technology . This makes Mio Technology the third largest navigation device manufacturer worldwide after TomTom and Garmin . In January 2009, the US navigation manufacturer Magellan GPS was taken over.
