The Metromover is a people mover , in downtown Miami in the US -Bundesstaat Florida runs and connects there numerous office buildings and public institutions among themselves. It was opened on April 17, 1986, serves 20 stations and carries around 28,500 passengers a day. It is operated by the Miami-Dade Transit local authority . The use of the Metromover is free of charge.

The route network is 4.4 miles (7.1 km) long and consists of three routes: A double-track, counter-traveled loop with a side length of about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) on the north side of the Miami runs along the North Fifth Street to the north, Second Avenue and Biscayne Blvd to the east, South Third Street to the south and West First Avenue to the west. Two branches branch off from this loop, one south to South 14th Street in the Brickell Financial District on the other side of Miami and another north to the American Airlines Arena , the bus station and the former Omni shopping mall . The Government Center stations on the west side of the loop and Brickell on the southern route serve as transfer stations to the elevated railway .

The routes are all elevated. Along the route there is a single row of reinforced concrete columns on which a pair of longitudinal beams made of white painted steel are mounted for each track. On each of these pairs there are two “half” concrete lanes, with a metal guide rail between them.

The fleet consists of a total of 29 driverless Bombardier CX-100 cabs . These are led through the rail in the middle and supplied with power. They roll over the concrete road on four rubber tires.

A total of three lines operate on the routes. The Downtown Loop runs clockwise on the inner loop, the courses of the Brickell Loop and the Omni Loop each serve one of the two branch lines and travel the loop counterclockwise.

In December 2013 the Bicentennial Park station reopened under the new name Museum Park.
